Forest School

Forest school is an outdoor educational approach to learning, it involves the whole child: heart, body, mind and soul. Through outdoor fun activities and learning experiences children acquire skills and develop holistically; social and emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual.

Evidence shows that outdoor play has a direct connection to the development of core skills, including problem-solving and creative thinking, curiosity, risk awareness, self-regulation, and developing social and emotional skills.

We are the first Forest school in South Africa, we follow a play based and child centered approach. It is through play, discovery, inquiry and engagement with the world and people within, that children develop and learn at Nature Plays.
